Less time in front of the mirror

Drying takes long because the air comes out slowly and too hot. This dryer approaches the job from the other side: a brushless BLDC motor pushes a strong stream of air, and the heat is set separately. The temperature does not climb, the volume of air does, and that is what shortens the blow-dry.

Switch it on and the warm air arrives quickly. The heat you set stays even to the end, so your hair does not get a sudden hot blast halfway through a long blow-dry.

BLDC motor

A brushless direct-current motor. It has no carbon brushes to wear out, so it can run at higher speeds, runs cooler and lasts longer than a classic brushed hair dryer motor. On this dryer it is what produces the high airflow.

Three speeds, three heat levels

Most hair dryers have one switch that ties the two together: ask for more air and you get more heat. Here you set the heat and the speed separately, from three heat levels and three speed levels. At the roots you can use strong air on medium heat, at the ends gentle air on the lowest heat level.

The point is that you do not have to reach for the highest heat simply because you are in a hurry: you can take the speed up independently of it.

An LED shows the heat setting, so you know how warm the air is without checking the switch mid-dry.

Two heads, two kinds of hair

A concentrator and a diffuser are both in the box. The concentrator presses the air through a narrow slot, so during a brush blow-dry the air goes exactly where the brush is. The diffuser does the opposite: it spreads the stream and lets the sections sit between its prongs, so a wave is not blown apart.

If your hair is wavy or curly, the diffuser is not an accessory but the main tool. If it is straight, the concentrator is the one you will use, and the diffuser stays in the drawer.

A brush blow-dry with the concentrator

1. Split your hair into four or five sections and clip up the ones you are not working on.
2. Fit the concentrator, pull each section over the brush and guide the air along it, from the roots to the ends.
3. Work on medium heat and drop to the lowest level for the ends.

Waves with the diffuser

Tip your head forward or to the side and lift the sections into the diffuser bowl. Hold it there on low speed and medium heat until the section is half dry, then move on. Keep your fingers out of the waves while they dry, and they hold together.

A long cord and a filter cover that comes off

The cord is 1.8 metres. That is enough to stand in front of the mirror from a bathroom socket, without the cable deciding which way you turn.

The filter cover is removable. Hair and dust settle on the filter over time, and that narrows the path the air takes. Take the cover off regularly and clear the filter, and the motor does not run hot from the build-up.

Safety and disposal

This is an electrical appliance, so at the end of its life it must not go into household waste but to a designated collection point for electrical equipment.

Care and storage

• Unplug it after use and let it cool before putting it away.
• Take off the filter cover and clear the hair that has collected on it.
• Wipe the body and the attachments with a dry or barely damp cloth.
• Do not wind the cord tightly around the handle; it breaks at the root.
• Keep the concentrator and the diffuser next to the dryer, so the one you need is always to hand.
