How do you time breakfast for two?

Prepare fruit, spreads and the table first. Make the hot drinks next and leave toast until last, so you can sit down as the final warm item is ready. If you prefer different coffee or browning settings, plan two successive batches and use the second to finish serving.

A simple breakfast sequence

  1. Slice fruit, put jam or a soft cheese spread on the table and set out two cups. Every item ready now saves getting up after the toast arrives.
  2. Decide what you each want to drink. Water for tea can heat while you measure coffee or prepare the appropriate capsule holder.
  3. Start the coffee, then make foam for a milky drink. Choose the frother’s warm or cold programme to suit the drink.
  4. Toast the bread just before sitting down. Start with a middle setting on the first try and adjust the next slice according to its colour.

The Fashion coffee machine accepting four preparation formats suits different coffee preferences or switching between ground coffee and capsules. The toaster’s seven browning settings let you find one for your own bread. Choose the appliances your breakfast needs rather than filling every space on the worktop.

What if one of us eats later?

Prepare the cold ingredients together, but make coffee and toast separately. The second breakfast can then arrive freshly made too.

When should pancakes join the menu?

Choose a morning with time to cook several in succession. Prepare fillings first; a low-sided pancake pan gives the spatula room to slide underneath.
