Three heads, one handle, and your skin no longer has to adapt

Most cleansing brushes arrive with a single head, and from then on that head decides how you wash. Here the handle comes with three: two bristle heads and one silicone head. Your skin does not adapt to the tool; it is the other way round, and it takes one click of a head.

Which head, and when

Each of the three heads is made for its own skin type. The clearing head works with ultra-fine fibre bristles, for oily, combination and normal skin. The deep cleansing head is made of 0.075 mm fibres and is meant specifically for oily skin. The third, silicone head targets normal and dry skin.

These three are not a ranking but a choice. An oilier T-zone asks for a different brush from skin dried out by winter, and the same person will not use the same head in January as in July.

One tool on the shelf instead of two

The handle with its three heads covers what would otherwise take two or three separate brushes. The heads click on and off, so no tool and no patience are needed. In the storage case the handle and the heads stay together, so one object stands on the bathroom shelf, not three.

Two speeds, two kinds of evening

It has two speed settings: low for gentle cleansing, high for a deeper cleanse. You switch with a single button, and the device suits every skin type.

The first week is for experimenting. If you have not used a rotating brush before, start on the low setting and move up once you are used to the rhythm of the movement. For sensitive skin, always stay on the low setting.

The rotation is what does the work

The head rotates through 360 degrees, and that is why you do not need to press. You move it across your face in circles and the head keeps even contact with the skin by itself. Movement replaces pressure, which is what makes the length of a cleanse predictable.

A grip you can hold with wet hands

The handle is sleeved in silicone, and that has one job: not to slip out of your palm with wet hands and a face full of lather. A device measuring 169 × 60 × 74 millimetres is not hard to hold, but a plain plastic handle slides in soapy hands.

Water-resistant design, marked IPX5

The device has a splash-resistant design marked IPX5: everyday splashes, humidity and moisture do it no harm.

The IPX5 marking means the device withstands everyday splashes, humidity and moisture. It does not mean immersion resistance: the device must not be submerged in water.

Four steps for washing your face

1. Click the head you want onto the body.
2. Apply your usual cleanser to your face or to the brush head.
3. Switch it on and work across your face in circles.
4. Take the head off, rinse it under running water and let it air dry.

Batteries, so no cable

The device runs on two AA batteries, so it needs no charging cable and you do not have to find a free socket in the bathroom. The batteries are not included in the box, which is worth keeping in mind when ordering.

When they run down, swapping the batteries takes two movements and the device carries on.

What it is made of, and what to watch

The housing is ergonomic, the handle silicone-sleeved, and the heads come in fibre and silicone versions. The heads are wearing parts: clean them regularly and replace them from time to time, because that is what really determines how long the device serves you.

Batteries must be handed in at a designated collection point at the end of their life, and the device itself may not go into household waste either. It is intended for household use in a dry, indoor environment.

A week, as the three heads divide it

On a weekday evening the silicone head goes on the handle: a quick round, little stimulation, and you can go to bed. At the weekend, when there is more time and more makeup to come off, the clearing head takes its turn, starting on the low setting.

The deep cleansing head is left for the day that actually calls for it. It is made for oily skin, and it is no accident that it is not the default: not every day asks for the same.

Cleaning and storage

• Take the head off after use and rinse it under running water.
• Let the head air dry before you put it back in the case.
• The device must not be submerged; rinse only the head.
• Do not use it with a damaged battery compartment, and take the batteries out before a longer break.
• Replace a worn brush head: changing the heads from time to time is what keeps the device in shape.
