When soup is on the menu for guests, it helps to have a pot that suits the plan. This 30 cm model holds 8 litres for larger stews, soups and shared lunches. Its 13.5 cm sides let you leave room above the ingredients for stirring.
The Fashion by Berlinger Haus pot comes with a silicone-rimmed tempered glass lid so you can watch the cooking. A TitanPro non-stick coating on forged aluminium helps with serving thicker dishes and washing up. It is suitable for induction too. Allow space for this larger size on your hob and at the sink before cooking.
You know the moment when the size of the pot decides how many people you can invite. This 30 centimetre piece holds 8 litres: you do not halve the recipe, you do not split one soup between two pans, and you do not work out whether one more portion will fit.

Eight litres is the amount that covers a celebration, a name day or a large gathering, and on ordinary weeks it cooks half the week at once. Bean soup, goulash, stuffed cabbage, broth: each of them fits in the quantity the recipe originally intended.
The 13.5 centimetre wall and the 30 centimetre width together mean the ingredients are not pressed against one another. There is room for the foam, for meat on the bone, and for the soup to stay below the rim once it comes to the boil.

Fashion by Berlinger Haus builds the shape on two things: minimalist style and a matt finish. An eight-litre pot does not disappear in a kitchen, so how it looks matters. Here the handles grow out of the body, the surface does not reflect, and nothing on it shows off.
The handles and the lid knob are stay-cool, ergonomic and soft-touch. At this size that is the detail that counts most, because a full pot always needs both hands.

The tempered glass lid rests on the pot through a soft-closing, heat-resistant silicone system. It does not clatter, it does not dance above a rolling boil, and the silicone rim keeps it in place even when the pot simmers for hours.
Its greatest use, though, is that you can see through it. Opening eight litres of soup for no reason means letting the built-up heat go; this way you simply look, and the lid stays where it is. A toothed strainer row runs round the rim of the lid, with a built-in strainer and an integrated spout: you let the cooking water out through the lid.

In a large pot the quality of the bottom shows up first. This one has a turbo induction base, so it works on every type of hob: induction, gas, electric, vitroceramic and halogen.
At eight litres that is the line you lean on most. The turbo induction base is designed for even heat distribution: the bottom of the pot works right out to its edge, not only over the ring.

This pot is easy to clean, and on a 30 centimetre piece that is the difference between leaving it in the sink overnight and going round the inside once with a soft sponge after it has cooled.

The body is forged aluminium, the lid tempered glass with a heat-resistant silicone system, the coating the brand's titanPro system.
Before Christmas, when the broth is made and the pot stands on the hob from eight in the morning until noon. Or in September, when a whole batch of pepper stew cooks at once and all that is left is to fill the jars.

And it comes out simply because you do not feel like cooking every other day. One afternoon, one pot, and the next three dinners are already in the fridge.

You can start with two four-litre pots instead of one eight-litre, but then you take up two rings, season twice and wash up twice. This size replaces exactly that: one set of ingredients, one ring, one lid. The 13.5 centimetre wall is what keeps room above a rolling boil so the soup does not run onto the hob.
Is the largest size worth buying?
If you regularly cook for five or six, yes: eight litres gives Sunday lunch, Monday dinner and a portion for the freezer out of one session. The same time at the hob, one pot to wash, and half the week you do not have to start the evening by cooking.
Who should buy an eight-litre pot?
A large household that regularly cooks for five or six, and anyone who batch cooks or preserves. Eight litres is a whole weekend's soup for guests. For two people it is too much: the 20 or 24 centimetre size fits ordinary portions better.
The pot is 30 centimetres across, so it belongs on the largest zone. Measure your biggest ring before ordering, and allow for the extra width the handles add.
A toothed strainer row runs round the rim of the lid, with a built-in strainer and an integrated spout. Keep the lid seated and hold both handles as you pour.
It can be used on all five hob types: induction, gas, electric, vitroceramic and halogen. The base is turbo induction, designed for even heat distribution.
Eight litres. The pot is 30 centimetres across and 13.5 centimetres tall, so the soup stays below the rim even at a rolling boil.
The body is forged aluminium. Full, every eight-litre pot is heavy, so lift it by both handles.
